I am deeply honored and humbled to keep company with incredibly strong and talented artisans. Within just a few weeks of having my daughter, Abby Lorenz of Courage Goods reached out to see if I might like to get the creative wheels back in motion with a photoshoot. Of course I did! So she and I came up with a Food 52-inspired photoshoot that focused on her gorgeous pottery venture. Now fully established in Duluth, MN, Abby creates an incredible line of richly textured pottery that is meant to be used and appreciated every day. Courage Goods Pottery is now available online and at loads of boutique shops throughout the Northeast and Minnesota.
This creative styling shoot also gave us the opportunity to make use of the rustic kitchens at The Preserve at Chocorua in Tamworth, NH – one of the most beautiful and serene wedding venues I’ve ever seen. Tamworth Distillery donated a few delicious bottles of spirits (to drink and photograph) and no shoot would be complete without florals from Bittersweet Gardens. The last and best detail of all were hand-carved wooden serving boards that came to us from John Francis Designs.
Thank you to Abby for forcing me to come out into the daylight and to re-explore my own creativity. Enjoy the fruits of our food- and pottery-styling labors.
