The rain started at 3pm sharp, and not just any rain – sideways rain with brilliant thunder and lightning. And as we ran through the rain to cover chairs I thought to myself “at least we always have an amazing back-up plan in case of rain!” And thus, with 30 minutes to spare, we moved an entire ceremony indoors – 100 chairs, a custom 8’ copper chuppah with 100lbs of floral decor, 2 bars and 8 tables that had been meticulously decorated for our intended outdoor ceremony. Mother Nature had other plans and thankfully – so did we.
You never would have known that our rain plan hadn’t been Plan A. We had the entire ceremony space resent indoors in under 30 minutes. Chairs were dried, florals re-assembled and guests none the wiser.
As the bride walked to the ceremony space, Maggie said simply “you disappeared for just a minute! How did you get the entire ceremony reset! I didn’t even know you did this!” And that is the magic of wedding planning.
Maggie and Duncan celebrated with 100 of their nearest and dearest on the 9th floor of One Federal Street in downtown Boston. This “hidden gem” roof top venue includes lush gardens, a reflecting pool, a huge manicured lawn and indoor space that boasts floor to ceiling windows for loads of natural light. La Bonne Maison Catering (family owned for over 30 years!) created divine apps and custom cocktails that lead into a bountiful spread of family-style tables for dinner. Stop Go Love Photography captured every detail of the day with an eye for the bohemian floral design from Whiled Flowers. And all of this came the day after a chartered boat cruise around the Boston Harbor for the glamour rehearsal dinner.
Cheers to all of the amazing vendors involved in this gorgeous day. Cheers to Maggie and Duncan who were a dream to plan with! And cheers to Mother Nature who always keeps me on my toes.
